Pneumatici da sugo belongs to the straight dry short pasta cuts; they are 35 mm long, between 1,11 and 1,18 mm thick and have a diameter of 20mm. They might originally come from Lombardia.

It is a particularly adaptable cut and is suitable with tomato or vegetable – based sauces. They are at their best with meat – based sauces such as: stew, meat and mushrooms, beef and pork, sausage.The best are liquid sauces able to cling to striped pasta.
